“Stop trying to fix yourself; you’re not broken! You are perfectly imperfect and powerful beyond measure.”
Steve Maraboli
In recent days, I have turned my attention inwards to look for and connect with my inner child. A young girl who was once wounded and who lives in my unconscious mind, influencing how I make a choice, respond to a challenge and live my everyday life.
I’ve tried to ignore her.
I’ve neglected her.
I’ve abandoned her to forget my pain.
Learning to love that little girl and hold her hand, telling her it is all OK and sharing a smile has helped me shift feelings of insecurity and unworthiness.
I am being kind to her by being kind to myself. I keep her close and tight and warm in my heart. It feels healing. It feels good. Thanks to my inner girl for never giving up and for getting through the tough and challenging times in life. I give her my gratitude and respect. I thank her for trying to protect me. Instead of suppressing her voice, I now say, “I hear you, We’ll work through it. it’s going to be Ok” I say, “I love you” cos love is the key to healing and I deserve it.
Inner Child
We all have an inner child. A little girl or boy who needs our acknowledgment. understanding and love.
Here are things to say to your inner child as you see yourself in the mirror, at any random moment;
I LOVE YOU
I HEAR YOU
YOU DIDN’T DESERVE THIS
I’M SORRY
I FORGIVE YOU
THANK YOU
YOU DID YOUR BEST
In saying these simple words to ourselves we experience more self-love, joy and peace. They will, over time, help us become more confident and compassionate and way more empowered.
In my teen girl empowerment workshops we address our inner child and nurture her. An empowered teen girl becomes an empowered woman who
Can change the world.
Soooo our next retreat is happening soon; 13-15 April at Alaya retreat Centre, Villafranca in Catalunya. Places are limited to ensure full and complete care and attention for every girl from 12 to 18 years old who joins us.
